15 January - The Tales of Hoffman - Opera
Summary: Through the mists of time, a poet remembers the women he has loved. But when it comes to love, appearances can be deceiving. Especially when the devil himself is at work...
Looking back on his student days, Hoffmann remembers his childhood sweetheart Olympia, a doll in every sense of the word. His unhappy love affairs follow him into adulthood, when the dancer Antonia is taken from him too soon. Meanwhile, the sensual courtesan Giulietta has a hidden agenda. In a fog where memories and dreams become increasingly intertwined, will Hoffmann manage to find the enigmatic Stella before it is too late?

27 February - Swan Lake - Ballet
Summary: During a hunting trip, Prince Siegfried stumbles across a swarm of swans. One of them transforms into a beautiful woman, Odette, in front of whom he falls into ecstasy. But Odette is bound by a spell that traps her in the body of a swan, and it is only when night falls that she can regain her human form. Von Rothbart, who has cast the spell on Odette, tricks the Prince into declaring his love for Odile, Odette's double, thus breaking his oath to Odette. Condemned to be a swan for eternity, there is only one way for Odette to break the sorcerer's spell.

1 April - Turandot - Opera
Summary: The beautiful but insensitive Princess Turandot will only marry the man who answers three charades correctly. Those who get it wrong are brutally beheaded. But when an unknown prince arrives, the balance of power at Turandot's court is shaken forever, as the mysterious stranger succeeds where all others have failed.

May 22 - Ballet to Broadway - Ballet
Summary:
FOOL'S PARADISE
Bright and sparkling, Fool's Paradise marked Wheeldon's first collaboration - before many others - with composer Joby Talbot. The ballet was created in 2007 for Wheeldon's company, Morphoses, and danced for the first time in 2012 by the Royal Ballet.
THE TWO OF US
The melancholy songs of Joni Mitchell set the scene for the UK premiere of The Two of Us, a duet of deep intimacy and yearning. The ballet was created in 2020 for the Fall for Dance Festival in New York, and American ballet dancers Sarah Mearns and David Hallberg were part of the original cast.
US (DUO)
Us, a tender duet danced by two men, was created in 2017 for BalletBoyz and set to music by Keaten Henson.
AN AMERICAN IN PARIS (BALLET)
The Royal Ballet pays tribute to Wheeldon's extraordinary success in the musical theatre world by presenting the ballet scene from his Tony Award-winning musical, An American in Paris. Set to the jazzy melodies of Gershwin, the musical is based on the 1951 film of the same name, starring Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron. The musical won four Tony Awards. The story tells of a budding love affair between American G.I. Jerry Mulligan and a French ballerina, Lise Dassin. The ballet excerpt was Wheeldon's personal vision of one of the film's most memorable scenes, a long sequence in which the two main characters dance through Paris.
