The Société d'Histoire et d'Archéologie de Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (Saint-Rémy-de-Provence Society for History and Archaeology) is organising a lecture entitled ‘Response to the climate challenge’ on Friday 11 October at 6.30pm in the Place du Général-de-Gaulle.
Alain Gachet is above all an underground explorer, known in the United States for his work exploring underground water and for his books Water and Peace (published by Hachette 2024), and
L'homme qui fait jaillir l'eau du désert (Lattès 2015). Since the Darfur crisis in 2004, his scientific discoveries on the search for deep water in the context of climate change have led him to be recognised by the major international institutions that intervene in all the world's conflict zones and refugee camps.
